MadPole Finale!

For your delectation, below part ten of my correspondence with the insane philosopher who is the only mortal who actually knows the truth.

Typical MadPole quote:

"Spirit-Spiritual - after few beers one feels part of the Universe"

eadon:The other day two dull Christians told me that I am missing God in my life. But when I look at the dull Christians (and other religions) I sense that this spiritualism is utter b*ll*cks.

MadPole: Christians are right although they are wrong! I absolutely agree with them - in a way - this is an essence of my message. At the same time - my advice is - don't mix up with them!

Christian INSTITUTION is very near FASCISM! Let's be honest! At the same time - as I mentioned before - when I talk about religion I do not mean INSTITUTION! And in this respect Christians are absolutely spot on! You do miss God as I did few years ago! And although I am still "not religious" I have found my God! One needs to have a "religion" in one's life - is as simple as that.

eadon: Perhaps your brain is trying to affect my brain. This is ironic because it goes against what your brain tells you it stands for.

MadPole: Well spotted! Paradox and Catch22 on every corner!

eadon: The more I read about spiritual matters the more crazy they seem to me. For example when I began reading the bible my respect for Christianity went down, not up. It is just total nonsence. And the stuff I read about spiritual matters seems like nonsense also. The more I learn about it the less spiritual I become. Before I read this stuff I have a certain feeling of what spiritualist matters are, romantic notions. Then I read these books by obvious nutters and I realise how lucky I am not to be spiritual.

Spiritualism is a trap, like religion is a trap. It is a way of trying to escape reality by pretending that reality does not exist. Spiritualism is head in the sand stuff. It might make you feel better for precisely those reasons, but personally I am happier dealing with the truth. I don't want to dabble in fantasy even if it means I will be happier.

The thought of being happy and ignorant of reality scares me. I think that the happiness is like the happiness derived from a powerful drug. It comes at a price. I think the the advocates of relition and spiritualism are like a drug dealers pushing drugs onto you. They might bring happiness of sorts but it is a dangerous path to travel down. What you seek might be a false idol.

As someone said, always be extremely suspicious of a belief if the belief brings great comfort. Remember that for it is wise: one should be extremely suspicious of spiritualism. If you want to believe then you will believe. If that is the action required to be spiritual then one should not take it. I look askance at comforting beliefs. Comforting beliefs are, after all, what spiritualism is. Be wary! That is why I do not "do" spiritualism, the experiment is not a wise one, perhaps. I am interested in fire but I do not place my hand into it. Likewise I do not want to capitulate my mind to false beliefs, even if they are comforting.

MadPole: This is, if You pardon me, total bollox! I am very "touchy" on this subject because I believed the same! And it took me 20 years of suffering to realize that.... it is bollox! You are talking like Polish person - suffering is good, happiness is not! I am saying: "Seek happiness and You will find it through suffering"! Same thing but totally different! Don't worry - suffering is "around" - there is no need to hang to it - You will get it anyway! I turned down happiness 20 years ago because it was just..... happy paradise! And now I believe that primary responsibility of anyone is to be ... happy!

This "theory" was confirmed by expert - 4 year old child I met! And children for me are the best philosophers!
She said: "It is wonderful day today"
And I asked her: "Why?"
And she replied: "Because we are all laughing a lot!"

This is it - essence of life from the most reliable source - a child! I was deeply touched by her comment - because it took me 30 years to come with the same conclusion! And 4-year old did it naturally and without any analysis!

eadon:The child analysed the situation very well. Children are the best analysts. Children, not adults, should be analyst programmers.

OK, I don't know what you are trying to say. Is happiness only achievable by deluding oneself? Why not just be happy? Its as simple as that. Be happy! Happiness is independent of spiritualism or intellectualism. Be happy!

Bullshit won't make you happy. The thing that makes you happy is not what you believe but your outlook on life. Probably. The child is happy but probably doesn't believe in spiritual bollox. It's just happy because other people are happy.

I feel sorry for people blaming their unhappiness on others. Some blame their parents. This is self defeating because it means no solution will present its self. (Unless, perhaps, waiting for them to die)

MadPole: Be happy. Laugh a lot. That's all! No spiritualism or bulshit involved! But sometimes it is a long way to get to this stage! That's all!

First time I went to Roman Catholic Church not because I was dragged to it but because I wanted to! All religions merged for me! I am "non-believer" who believes in God! God which my body represents! First time in my life I was "above" institution and "touched" "real" religion! First time in my life it was church I wanted - any church - any gathering of people who "believe" - in whatever! Power of people is something one should never underestimate!

eadon: - Any church will do!? Any religion will do! Ah! the desire to believe is great indeed. You believe none of it yet you are willing to believe all of it. You are a non believer who believes. This is the sobre man who pretends he is drunk. You don't really believe in spiritualism. You are trying to believe in something that doesn't exist because you think you ought to. A polish man has been corrupted by British intellectuallism. A polish man finds (metaphorically speaking) out that Father Xmas does not exist, there are no tooth fairies. But he believes that they exist anyway because he thinks that he is not complete if he doesn't believe or "DO"!

What do you mean by DO? Does "Doing" mean putting a stocking out for Father Xmas to fill it with presents? That is doing. Believing in father Xmas is "Doing". But being intellectual is not doing. Hmmmm. I can believe that your "Doing", believing is Father Xmas is Doing and is pleasant, but is it all just a mirage? a spectre? an illusion. Beware pleasant beliefs. Beware of pleasant do. For the brain will always seek that which is pleasant, even if, expecially if it is self delusional. But I don't want to dissuade you. I think you know what you are up to!

My philosophy is believe in something if there is evidence and only then. Spiritualism is just a trick of the subconscious. it's very powerful but it's just the subconscious. Its the brain!!! And brains are not truth machines. They are utterly fallible. So be careful what brain tells you, as you always point out to me! Oscar Wilde said, "Never believe anything you hear and certainly never believe anything you see." Wilde probably wouldn't have cared to agree with a word I've said but it's a nice quote.

MadPole: Complements! You have a problem with word "spiritualism". Only yesterday I was talking to somebody that I would love to have my eyes closed for half a year and then my ears closed for half a year and then perhaps.... both of them closed for half a year as well! I have experimented with tying my eyes at home and trying to "live my life". I have tried to walk with my eyes closed! It is so funny! We are talking about the same thing but at the same time the gap is so big.

And subconscious my friend is... a gate between You and the whole Universe! Ignore it and You will trap yourself "inside"! Drinking (and You told me this!) is the best example! Spirit-Spiritual - after few beers one feels part of the Universe!
